AoG
Architectures of Governance is a Master’s practice-based research studio in architecture at KTH, exploring how architecture operates within — and can intervene in — the systems that govern the built environment.
The studio examines how laws, regulations, ownership, institutional structures and public responsibilities shape spaces, buildings and territories. Through surveys, drawings, models, photography, mapping, interviews and documentary research, we use architectural practice as a method of inquiry.
We investigate the relationships between spatial conditions, political decisions and everyday practices. Built environments become both sites of inquiry and grounds for intervention, through which we develop proposals that explore alternative forms of care, responsibility and governance.
